Initial Consultation
- Initial consultations are done as house call appointments in the owner's home.
-Appointments usually last about 90 minutes.
-Follow-ups are scheduled at 2-6 week intervals depending on the needs of the pet.
-Owners are required to fill out a history form prior to an initial consultation appointment. It needs to be emailed back to Dr White no later than 48 hours prior to a scheduled initial consultation. If it is received at least 72 hours prior to the appointment, the initial consultation base fee will be discounted by $20. Owners who do not return their history forms at least 48 hours prior to a scheduled appointment time will be asked to reschedule and will forfeit their deposit.
-In order to reserve an initial consultation on Dr White's calendar, a $100 deposit is required. The $100 is applied towards the cost of your initial consultation. If you do not return your history information on time or if you cancel/change your appointment time, that deposit is forfeited. Deposits can be paid at the following link: https://squareup.com/store/VBMS. Please do not pay the deposit until a specific time has been set with Dr White.
-During our first visit, we will discuss topics such as body language, causes of anxiety and aggression, prognosis, and will set a comprehensive treatment plan for moving forward. A comprehensive treatment plan often includes environmental management, clicker training, and medical management when appropriate.
-The cost of the initial visit is $595 for the first 90 minutes (most wrap up in 90 minutes) and $180 per hour for any additional time. If your history information is received no later than 72 hours prior to your scheduled appointment time, the initial visit fee is discounted to $575.
-Travel of up to 30 minutes from West Chester, OH is included in the cost of the initial consultation.
-Additional travel fees in OH ($55)are required for the following areas:
-South/West of Interstate 74
-South/East of State Route 50
-North of Dorothy Lane in Kettering
-East of State Route 48 in Lebanon/Maineville
-Additional travel fees always apply for Kentucky appointments
-$70 inside of 275 loop
-$85 outside of 275 loop
--Owners will have unlimited email contact with Dr White for 2 months and phone contact for an additional (hourly) fee.
-Estimating the number of sessions is really difficult, especially without having met the pet. Some factors that influence this are: severity of the case, if medications are used---initial response to medications, and the amount of time owners are able to spend working on clicker training. 1-2 follow-up visits are fairly standard in almost all cases, though some do require considerably more.
-Indications: Aggression, separation anxiety, generalized anxiety, resource guarding, inter-cat issues, inappropriate elimination, cognitive dysfunction, spraying, etc…
